Activities For Daredevils
Thereâ??s a lot of adventure to be had in South America. Every single major country has some sort of exciting activity to participate in. For those that are daredevils, they will be pleased to find that thereâ??s all sorts of things for them to do to get that adrenaline rush that they are looking for.
Mountain Biking
This activity might not seem that adventurous, but have you ever mountain biked on one of the worldâ??s most hazardous roads? El Camino de la Muerte, which has become known as Deathâ??s Road, because of the 300 deaths that occur here every year. This road is extremely dangerous for cyclers as there arenâ??t railings here despite the fact that thereâ??s a huge risk of them falling off of the side and descending 15,000 feet to their death. Still though, the inclines and winding roads, plus the sheer risk of falling make it an adrenal filled activity.
Helicopter Ride
One of the nice things about going on a helicopter ride is that it allows you to see an aerial view of something thatâ??s massive and canâ??t all be taken in from the ground. A helicopter ride over Angel Falls will allow you to see one of the most incredible natural wonders in the world. You will feel quite the rush as you are looking down at the ground while you are thousands of feet in the air.
Swinging
Now, I know what youâ??re thinking, how is a swing a daredevil activity. Well if you go to the Casa del Arbol in Ecuador, you will realize that this isnâ??t a kiddie swing. Basically itâ??s a treehouse located near an active volcano. Like all good treehouses, there is a swing attached to it that takes riders over the side of a cliff. If that wasnâ??t scary enough there is no seatbelt on the swing so you really need to hold on tight!
Snowboarding
There are quite a few place to go in South America where you can go snowboarding. Valle Nevado is one of the most popular places to go to experience this thrilling activity. June to October is when winter occurs in Chili so if you are sick of the summer months in the U.S. and ready to cool down, you can head over to the slopes here to enjoy the rush of going down them on your snowboard.
Hang Gliding
Imagine seeing the sites down below while soaring through the air like a bird. Hang gliding is available in many areas in South America including Brazil. One popular excursion allow participants to see views of Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer and Tijuca National Park.
