Explore the historic center with its European-style architecture and colorful buildings. Head to the waterfront promenade to visit the Nao Victoria Museum. Marvel at the full-scale replicas of historic ships that sailed the Magellan Strait, and beyond, including the iconic Nao Victoria, the first ship to circumnavigate the globe. Gain insight into the adventures of famous explorers such as Magellan, Drake, and Fitz Roy. Time permitting, visit a renowned sculptor's gallery, where you will learn how her creations reflect the region's uniquely fragile character and climate, and whose commissions span the globe

DAY 6 - Full Day Torres del Paine National Park
Depart Punta Arenas early this morning and embark on an unforgettable adventure through the legendary Strait of Magellan as you journey through the wildlife-rich Magdalena and Marta Islands (weather dependent)*. Explore one of South America's largest penguin colonies and gain insight into their fascinating ecosystem. Then, continue to Marta Island, where, weather permitting, you may observe a thriving population of more than 1,500 sea lions. The island also hosts imperial cormorants and hundreds of southern gulls. On the return journey to Punta Arenas, keep a lookout for other marine life, such as southern dolphins. The path is ideal to appreciate the flora, with Paine Grande Mountain dominating the scenery. In the afternoon, drive through the rugged terrain of the far eastern region to Cascada del Rio Paine for a short stop to admire the iconic three towers. Disembark from the small boats and hike through a small native forest, then cross a path leading to a small glacial lagoon. Continue the hike, until you reach the front of the glacier. From here, you'll have the opportunity to touch ice and observe a glacier in a receding phase that no longer reaches the sea. Return to the ship for lunch and continue sailing through Montañas Fjord.
